Live Lightning
Some Info
This screen capture is a plot generated by a lightning detector collocated at my server site in Boynton Beach, FL. We are located approximately 8 miles South of West Palm Beach, in the exact center of the map, at the "+" First, some information:
The type and polarity of new strikes are indicated by symbols, as illustrated in the legend. Dots that fade in color from yellow through dark red indicate older strikes. The correlation between time and color can be found in the legend. The display typically reflects a total of the last 20 minutes activity for any given period.
There are several controls on the map for your use. Thirty or Sixty minute history can be displayed with the push of a button. You can zoom out on the range of the map. There is also a feature to run a loop of the latest archived data. This is a Java-enabled image that automatically refreshes every 60 seconds
